Alice Messinger Gallery Opening Reception

Event Description:
Alice’s work is constructed from an abstract vocabulary inspired by the natural world in which she lives. Through the observance of nature's colors, forms and textures, Alice expresses her personal interpretation. The kinesthetic language of her brush or palette knife strokes and color variations reflects her mood and temperament at the time of painting. The organic process of painting is informed by Alice’s subconscious thoughts and moods and sheds light on her current perspective. For Alice, making art is a journey to understand the external natural world and the many ways in which it is internalized and interpreted.

Alice Messinger lives and works currently in Boulder, Colorado. She received her BFA from Parsons School of Design. She has continued her study independently and through workshops with nationally acclaimed artists in New York City, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Colorado. She is represented in many private collections.

Since moving to Boulder, Alice has been instrumental in curating and developing the Boulder Jewish Community Center’s (JCC) art gallery. The art space at the Boulder JCC was recently named the Messinger Gallery to honor Alice’s continued contribution and hard work over the years.

We hope you will join us for this evening of light food and refreshments, live music, and artist talk at 6:30 pm.
