How to Use the Law to Protect Your Assets
 
Several very experienced attorneys from the law firm of Dietze and Davis, P.C. will share insight into how to protect your assets in your career and personal life.  These experienced attorneys will discuss why the proper business entity can save you, the role (and sometimes overreach) of a non-compete agreement with your employer and employees, ways to protect yourself in real estate transactions, and the importance of early estate planning and related life issues.

Speaker Bios:
 
David Thrower is a Colorado native, and has practiced in Boulder since 1995. He practices in the areas of transactions, entity formation, general business matters, estate planning, local government law, municipal prosecution, and landlord/tenant matters. David has experience in effectively assisting clients in reaching their goals through starting businesses, protecting assets and estate planning. He also assists clients with maintaining and maximizing their businesses and assets through real estate transactions, sales of businesses and by assisting with lease issues, including Forcible Entry and Detainer. David represents a broad spectrum of clients, including entrepreneurs, large companies and municipalities. David was the prosecutor in the Town of Superior for 13 years. Prior to joining Dietze and Davis, he co-founded a law firm in Boulder, where he practiced in criminal defense and family law. David has served as the Managing Shareholder of Dietze and Davis, P.C. since 2011, and was recently appointed Municipal Judge for the Town of Superior.
 
Carmen Danielson has been practicing law since 1987.  Carmen represents employers and employees in most every aspect of employment law, including employment contracts and negotiations, discrimination claims and defenses, EEOC and CCRD proceedings, employee handbooks, non-compete and trade secret disputes, wage and hour issues, independent contractor issues, and wrongful discharge.  Her clients range from employers of various sizes, executive and management employees, and non-management employees.  Carmen has handled and been involved in many federal and state cases pertaining to employment-related issues.  Carmen has been selected by the Boulder County Bar Association as its "Outstanding Young Lawyer" and by the Colorado Women’s Bar Association as an Outstanding Committee Member.  She is a frequent lecturer and author on topics related to employment law.
 
Robyn W. Kube has been a shareholder at Dietze and Davis, P.C., since 1996 and is President of the Firm.  Her practice focuses on all matters in any way related to real estate, including title analysis, transactional work, financing, construction, and litigation.  She has written about access, survey, septic, and disclosure issues related to residential and commercial real estate, and is a speaker on access issues, construction defect litigation and methods for resolving boundary disputes.  Her other focus areas are title insurance law, civil litigation and appeals, and energy-related issues.  In 2011 she initiated changes to Boulder County’s Land Use Code to provide for the review of solar gardens and other renewable energy projects.  Robyn has co-chaired both the real estate and alternative dispute resolution sections of the Boulder County Bar Association.  She currently serves on the Natural Gas Working Group advising the City of Boulder in connection with its efforts to municipalize the delivery of electricity.
 
Renée Ezer has been an attorney since 1987 and a shareholder of Dietze and Davis, P.C. since 2006.  Her practice emphasizes the resolution of conflicts through compromise or litigation in the administration of estates and trusts, guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, will contests, financial exploitation of the elderly, and fiduciary defense actions, as well as estate and trust administration.  Renée also serves as a mediator in estate and trust-related disputes, and enjoys trust-related appellate work.  She has been.  Renée has lectured before professional organizations on the topics related to guardianships and conservatorships, trust and estate litigation, conflict management for amilies caring for an elderly family member, estate administration, mediation, and professional ethics.  She has been recognized as an expert in Trust Administration before the Boulder County District Court.
