Event Description:

Where: Bridge House Path to Home, 2691 30th St, Boulder, CO 80302
Join fellow young professionals for an opportunity to give back! We will be serving hot meals to 40-60 guests at Bridge House's Path to Home program. No training needed, just an open heart and a willingness to be friendly and welcoming to guests.
All volunteers must complete a liability waiver, available here. It is easiest to complete prior to volunteering and return to us here.
Path to Home is Bridge House's newest program, which is focused on rapid rehousing. We can house up to 50 clients in this building and they stay with us for an average of 2 weeks while they work daily with case managers on their personalized action plan. We offer meals, cots to sleep on, showers, storage for their belongings, nurse visits, support groups and daily case management along with other resources. In addition to the people in this Path to Home program, the dinner portion is also open to ANYONE experiencing homelessness who needs a healthy, free meal. So, from 5-6pm we have additional folks coming in for the dinner, and then they leave after eating. The clients in the Path to Home program stay after the meal and prepare the cots to sleep at night.
All of the food served at dinner is made by us - Bridge House - at our separate commercial kitchen which is located in east Boulder near the Boulder Dinner Theater. Our executive chef John Trejo oversees the making of the meals, but the actual cooking is mostly done by FORMERLY homeless trainees who are now employed in our year-long transition program called Ready to Work. Our kitchen is such a success that we run a busy catering business as well (Community Table Kitchen) which offers excellent food for public and private events, again powered by many of the trainees in our employment program. As you can see, we have several different services and programs offered which overlap and support one another, to the benefit of our clients.
Once again, the location for the dinner is Path to Home, 2691 30th Street, in the site of the former Robb’s Music store. On the west side of 30th, a little south of Valmont, essentially across the street from The Steelyards.
