November 8, 2018 | 5:30-7:30pm
Museum of Boulder, 2205 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80302
November’s Boulder Conversations with Extraordinary People speaker is Dr. Oakleigh Thorne, II, founder of Thorne Nature Experience, a local non-profit organization that has been connecting youth to nature for more than six decades. A lifelong lover of the outdoors and passionate advocate for preserving Boulder’s greenbelt, he helped the campaign to pass a sales tax to create the City’s Open Space program, and personally purchased Settler’s Park, saving it from development and owning it until the City could afford to buy it back from him at the same price. He also helped raise money to purchase Enchanted Mesa in Chautauqua Park, preventing hundreds of homes and a hotel from covering the landscape.
Participants enjoy wine and light appetizers and have an opportunity to interact with the speakers and ask questions. Event begins: 5:45pm
Tickets Available Online + at the door: $10 Museum Members | $15 General Admission
