George Walker’s Lyric for Strings is elegiac and consoling, the perfect music for our current moment. Also on the program, composer Korine Fujiwara’s story of a trailblazing and inspirational female artist, Camille Claudel, is brought to life by string orchestra with the extraordinary dancers at Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance. The evening concludes with Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, presented in a stunning version for string sextet by Beethoven’s contemporary, M.G. Fischer.
