Business Women's Leadership Group Meeting

Carmen Danielson has been practicing law since 1987. She counsels employers and employees in most every aspect of employment law, including hiring and termination, disciplinary actions, employment contracts and negotiations, discrimination claims and defenses, EEOC and CCRD proceedings, employee handbooks, non-compete and trade secret matters, wage and hour issues, independent contractor issues, and wrongful discharge complaints. Her clients range from employers of various sizes, executive and management employees, and non-management employees. Carmen has handled and been involved in many federal and state cases pertaining to employment-related issues. She also assists clients with licensing contracts, vendor services agreements, software service agreements and various other types of contracts.

Carmen was selected by the Boulder County Bar Association as its "Outstanding Young Lawyer" of the year in 1997, an award given annually to a member of the Association under the age of 37 who has demonstrated the highest standards of legal practice, dedication to the profession, and outstanding service to the community. She was selected as an Outstanding Committee Member by the Colorado Women’s Bar Association, and is a frequent lecturer and author on topics related to employment law.

Angie Lull serves as HR Manager for Boulder Center (BMC). Angie has more than 12 years’
experience in Human Resources providing guidance, direction and planning to large and small
employers in the high tech, manufacturing, clean energy and healthcare sectors. She has
worked in numerous human resources departments developing programs and creating systems
that support organizational growth and facilitate efficiency. As a board member for the Boulder
Area Human Resources Association (BAHRA), she takes great pride in being an engaged leader
who mentors new professionals and provides networking opportunities for HR practitioners.

Michele Sturgell joined Employers Council as a Workplace Investigator in April 2015 and was promoted to Manager of Investigations in January 2017.  Before coming to Employers Council, Michele was a trial lawyer specializing in indigent criminal defense for nearly 11 years where she completed over 70 jury trials.  Michele earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Denver in 2001 and her Juris Doctor from Arizona State in 2004. 

Michele is a certified Title IX investigator and is currently working towards her M.B.A. at the University of Colorado-Denver.  In her free time you’ll find her with her husband and their seven-year old daughter cheering on the Buffs at Folsom Field.
