Boulderites have exercised their rights as Americans to speak out for and against a wide variety of issues that have faced us over time. We are pulling some special items donated in recent times as well as those from the earlier days of Boulder to show the freedom of speech in action.

Trunks from the Collection

Trunks have a surprising story to tell. Some have come to the museum's collection after war, others were simply used to carry the actual donation to the museum. Made from wicker, metal, leather and pulp paper this humble work objects have many stories to tell. Join our curator, Elizabeth Nosek as she highlights this unique and special collection.

Lighting Up the Holidays!

Lights both indoor and out have been a part of Boulder's holiday celebrations during this the darkest time of the year. Not only will we take a look at traditional Christmas tree lighting, but we will explore holiday lighting traditions from other cultural groups. Join curator Elizabeth Nosek as she uses historical images and objects from the Museum's permanent collection to discuss the history of holiday lighting.
