Love for Lily Boots and Bling

Love for Lily is a Colorado based non-profit, 501(c)3, organization that gives families the support they need to ease their journey through the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Our mission is to empower, support and connect families who are or who have been touched by a NICU experience. 

Love for Lily began on Mother's Day 2012, just 6 months after our founder, Sahra and her husband Ted Cahoon, said goodbye to their daughter, Lily, born at 24 weeks. Over the last nine years, Love for Lily has supported over 5000 families through our multifaceted programs. We help families in-unit while their babies are receiving life saving medical attention, we have given out over 3500 Essentials bags stuffed with items that can provide a little comfort and ease the burden of life in the NICU and through our grant program, we’ve provided over $40,000 to families caring for their medically fragile child. In the last two years we’ve also supported over 40 families through the loss of their baby.

Boots and Bling is Love for Lily’s premier fundraising event of the year. This year's event will feature an evening hosted by Love for Lily’s resident funny man, Dusty Smith and an appearance by Sahra Cahoon, the founder of Love for Lily and Lily’s mama.  We will feature musical musings from local CO artists, testimonials from nurses and families directly touched by Love for Lily, a live cocktail class, a silent auction and a paddle raise to close the evening. This event is not to be missed!

Like all of you, our hearts have been filled with joy at the many small reunions we have had with our friends and loved ones in the last few months. And we are over the moon that our facilitators have returned to doing in-person bedside visits with NICU families. In order for our facilitators to continue providing in-person support to NICU families, we cannot hold an in-person Boots & Bling this year. Hospital administrators tell us that large gatherings still present an unacceptably high risk for families of NICU babies.

Although we will not be able to hug each and every one of you and raise a glass together in person, we are very excited about the Boots & Bling celebration that we have planned, and we hope to see all your beautiful faces virtually. We invite you to put on your best boots and your most dazzling bling and gather your friends together, to join us to celebrate the many successes and unprecedented growth Love for Lily has experienced in the last year.
