Navigating the Awkward Stages of Adolescents with Confidence
This workshop is perfect for parents, guardians and teens to get more comfortable navigating the awkward stages of puberty and adolescence. This workshop will provide basic physiological, biological, psychological and social information on development and how this information can be utilized to help your adolescent have a positive and healthy puberty experience. How to start those conversations and be prepared with the knowledge you'll need.

4 hour workshop that is broken into two 2-hour sessions. This event opens at 6pm to order drinks, eat snacks and get settled. Dr. Betsy will start the workshop at 6:30pm each night and wrap up around 8:30pm.

Presenter Bio:
Betsy Cairo PhD, HCLD, CSE-S is a Reproductive Biologist and taught both graduate and undergraduate courses at University of Northern Colorado from 1995-2017.. Dr.Cairo’s experience both in the field and in the classroom have fueled her passion and created a vision for educating Colorado’s youth, its educators and its communities. Dr.Cairo is a board certified Reproductive Biologist from the American Association of Bioanalysis as a High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD). She is also certified by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapist (CSE). She holds a PhD in Human Reproduction from the Union Institute, in Cincinnati, Ohio and a BS in Animal Science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Host Bio:
Auburn Meisner, LMSW is a sex and relationship therapist and licensed social worker in the state of Colorado (License Number: LSW.0009920892 ). She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a certificate in Sex Therapy and Human Sexuality from the Buehler Institute. She provides individual, couples and family therapy at Intimate Inquiries located in Niwot and Boulder Colorado.
