Maine Beer Company Lunch IPA

 

Lunch is a special whale that has been spotted off the Maine coast since 1982. She has what looks like a bite taken out of her fin, which adds to her unique character. We dedicate this beer to her determination and persistence. Keep on swimming! Aromas of orange, grapefruit, and lemon with pine and herbal undertones. Tropical notes of guava and papaya with subtle caramel and malt sweetness.

 

 

Big fluffy fizzy head fades semi slowly tons of lacing, dark mahogany almost black like color. Nose brings tons of raspberry, raspberry syrup and mild cocoa, powdered dark choc, nice tart sour rasp, hint of lactic acid but not really funk, little tannic seed. Taste starts very sour, super sour, decent raspberry, more syrup, with tart funk and sour raspberry. Then mild cocoa dark choc, little flemmy sour, tangy, nice acidic bite. Finish is flemmy tangy sour, light raspberry syrup and syrupy sour masts.

 

Unibroue Trois Pistoles Belgian (French for Delish)

 

Trois Pistoles has a dark brown color topped with a rich foam mousse. Its slightly sweet taste is enhanced by accents of roasted malt, cocoa, ripe fruit and dark spices with a smooth finish like an old port wine. Brewed with four selected malts and four exotic spices, Trois Pistoles beckons with a subtle sweetness that makes it surprisingly smooth and satisfying for a beer of such strength and complexity.

 

 

Brown Ale aged in used Pinot Noir barrels from local Sonoma County wineries. It is aged for about 12 months with sour cherries, brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Flavors from the cherries, Pinot Noir and oak balance each other nicely with a little funk from the brett.
