Come walk among the solar panels and see how solar and agriculture fit together!
The Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center is providing public tours of Jack's Solar Garden every Saturday morning from now through October 30th at 10am! This is an opportunity to walk among 3,276 solar panels and to learn how we can use land simultaneously for both solar and agriculture - an idea called agrivoltaics.
Jack's Solar Garden is a 1.2 MW community solar garden in Boulder County working with researchers from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Colorado State University, and the University of Arizona to learn how best to grow crops within a solar array. Tourists to Jack's Solar Garden walk beside panels elevated to 6ft and 8ft and see the various research plots set up within the solar garden. Visitors also see the largest Habitat Hero planted by Audubon Rockies spanning the perimeter of Jack's Solar Garden consisting of over 3,000 perennials.
