Longmont Leads in Redefining Community Justice!
Join us for a free documentary screening event to learn more about Restorative Justice
Over the past twenty years, Longmont Community Justice Partnership (LCJP) has transformed crime and conflict in our community and schools into opportunities for learning and greater connection. Over 3000 cases have been referred to Community Restorative Justice instead of being handled through the traditional court system, including the devastating act of vandalism in Longmont's Mountain View Cemetery in 2013. In the last 5 years, Longmont High School has avoided assigning over 370 suspension hours by utilizing restorative practices to resolve conflicts. Longmont is recognized nationwide as a leader in partnering with law enforcement, school, and judicial systems to provide restorative justice processes that create a safer, more caring community. Join us for the debut of this documentary screening about Longmont Community Justice Partnership and learn how we are transforming our city’s approach to justice.
