It’s been called a She-cession. Though similar numbers of men and women lost their jobs at the start of the pandemic, fewer women are being rehired. In 2020, only 57% of women participated in the workforce – a level that the U.S. hasn’t seen since 1988.

Despite the recession’s outsized impact on women, they have only filled about 25% of positions on the 225 COVID-19 task forces created across 137 countries in 2020, further perpetuating longstanding inequities in pay, industry representation, unpaid childcare, and workplace flexibility that have all contributed to our current reality.

Join the Business Women’s Leadership Group on August 11th to discuss the root causes of the disproportionate economic impact of COVID-19 on women and ways we can support gender equity in the workforce

The event will be held in person, but will also be filmed, so you can watch via zoom. Zoom details will be included in registration confirmation.
