Event Description:
Motus Theater is striving to be in alignment with Governor Polis' #DoYourPartCO. We are working creatively to meet the needs of people, across Colorado, to have meaningful ways of engaging while remaining isolated in their homes, and at the same time find ways of reflecting on the ongoing challenges facing our community and democracy. So, Motus is experimenting with intimate home virtual theater explorations.

RSVP to attend an intimate virtual reading of Women of Resolution live from the homes of Representatives Leslie Herod, Barbara McLachlan, and Serena Gonzalez-Gutierrez and Senator Kerry Donovan; with featured sanctuary leaders Rosa Sabido and Ingrid Encalada Latorre; and musician Elisa Garcia and poet Dominique Christina. 

Women of Resolution shares the autobiographical stories of Araceli Velasquez, Ingrid Encalada Latorre, Rosa Sabido, and Sandra Lopez. Four women who sought sanctuary to prevent being deported and separated from their families. Scripted by Kirsten Wilson based on interviews recorded by Joel Dyer and Motus staff. In this time of fear and uncertainty, acts of courageous civic empathy will be what moves us forward as a community and as a country. These empathetic actions support positivity and mental health - because, like COVID-19, courage is contagious and Coloradans will need courage! Join us in building connections across physical boundaries via this virtual Zoom performance.

We plan doing this event free of charge although continuing to pay all artists, staff and the women whose stories are featured. Donations are welcome!
