Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM MST
Ginga, Benjamin Teitelbaum, Planina
Event Description:
After last season’s wildly successful World Beat concerts in the Soundscape series, we bring another exciting installment with music from three different countries.  Presenting music from Brazil, Sweden, and the Balkans, each of these countries will be represented on stage performing one after the other in a round-robin fashion.

Dazzling audiences with the captivating rhythms and energy of traditional Brazilian music for over a decade, Boulder based Brazilian band
Ginga is known for bringing audiences to a quiet purr with a sultry Bossa Nova, or blow the roof off the evening with a full blown Carnaval style samba dance party.

Scandinavian folk musician and Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology at CU Boulder,
Benjamin Teitelbaum specializes in Swedish folk music and Sweden’s unofficial national instrument, the Nyckelharpa, and tours nationally and internationally as a performer and teacher.

Planina, a group of singers and instrumentalists from the Denver-Boulder area, is known for their performances of haunting and beautiful songs from Eastern Europe and the Balkans.  Planina provides an authentic experience for audiences as they perform in authentic costumes singing in the original languages with regional vocal styling.

This concert will be an exciting and cultural musical conversation you won’t want to miss!
