Young Meditators

In Person & Free

No meditation experience? No problem, come on in! Never looked into Buddhist teachings? Not a problem either! Not into religion? That's fine too! Meditation and wisdom traditions can be applicable to life without "subscribing" to anything. A simple inquisitiveness about meditation and mindfulness and how it might apply to your life is all that is needed. Even if you are just a little curious, stop by and give it a try.

You will meet others who are bringing mindfulness and the dharma, or universal truth, into their lives to be more sane, grounded, and helpful. Let's build a community of young adults who meditate, practice mindfulness, and learn how to engage the brilliance and challenges of the world in a healthier way. We all have an innate wakefulness and are inherently good, strong, wise, and kind. Let's nourish those qualities together.

Please join us at the Boulder Shambhala Center if you are a young adult (18 through late 30s), and are curious about this. The gathering always starts with a bit of getting to know each other followed by meditation instruction and practice. After that we may explore a reading or a video and have a discussion. Or we may simply have a discussion based on a selected, relevant topic. Afterwards, everyone is invited to step out onto Pearl Street to hang out and perhaps grab a drink or a bite to eat.

We work to create a safe, inclusive, and accepting environment. If any mishaps occur, they will be addressed immediately by the hosts and fellow participants. We are all responsible for caring for each other regardless of any perceived differences and experiences. All who join will be asked to review a brief Code of Conduct policy.
